Is it difficult to install and operate?

Not at all. Set the unit in the truck bed or UTV rack, clamp the cables to any 12V top-post battery, snap the hose onto the quick-connect, and hit the corded remote. Most operators are fogging inside 20 minutes of opening the box.

Good to know

Other Questions

Will a single pass really reach the underline and the legs?

Coverage depends on wind, driving speed, nozzle setting, and how the bunch is standing — anybody who tells you otherwise is selling. What a fogger does is put a drifting mist over and around the group instead of a stream at one head. On still evenings at the bunk you'll get your best passes of the week.

Will it spook the cattle?

A fogger doesn't throw a jet or a stream. It lays a fine, quiet mist that drifts and settles while the herd stays at the feed line. There's no noise that means anything to a cow at the bunk, and nothing asks her to be caught or held.

Will it work on my truck's electrical?

It clamps to any standard 12V top-post battery — truck, UTV, or a spare deep-cycle in the bed. The included power cords handle the draw with no wiring work.

How tough is it? This lives outside.

Steel tank, farm-grade 12V pump, and fittings built for daily use in dust, heat, and rough hauling. Store it out of standing rain like any pump equipment and it'll run season after season.

What about after a rain?

Fog once things dry off and follow your concentrate's label on re-application after rainfall — the label governs, same as with any format.

$699.96 is real money. Why not a cheaper unit?

Cheap foggers are built for backyards — small tanks, plastic pumps, no pressure. MISTR runs a high-pressure 12V pump through a 3.75-gallon steel tank with a magnetic wand and corded remote, sized to treat a working herd pass after pass. Buy once.

What if it doesn't do what I want?

Send it back inside 30 days for a full refund. Run it a week of your own fly pressure with your own concentrate before you decide.

Can I Return This?

Yes — 30 days, full refund, no restocking games.

best thing i've added to my operation in years

we run about 200 head and fly pressure this summer has been brutal. started using the herdguard off the UTV while they're at the feed bunk and it's the first time i've seen the herd this calm during peak fly season. no more bunching up or tail switching constantly.

treat while they're eating, no corrals needed

the fact that i can fog the whole herd while they're at the bunk without running them through anything is worth every penny.

solid build, does exactly what it says

Put this thing through some rough use already and it's holding up well. Mist coverage is consistent and the cattle don't spook from it which was my main concern. Took maybe 5 minutes to get it mounted and running. Docking one star only because the hose could be a little longer for my setup.

cattle are noticeably calmer

fly stress was causing weight loss issues in a few of our younger animals. vet mentioned it as a factor and suggested better fly control. been fogging 3x a week for about a month and the difference in how settled the herd is has been real noticeable.

haven't touched the chute for fly treatment

we used to do pour-on treatment every few weeks which meant running everyone through the chute. this is so much less stressful for the animals and honestly for us too. herd doesn't even flinch when we come through now.

ticks and flies both down significantly

I run stocker cattle on pasture and ticks were a real problem coming into summer. Been fogging twice a week since May and the tick load on the animals has dropped a lot. Flies are way more manageable too, overall the herd just looks healthier.

good unit, setup was straightforward

Got it mounted on my Polaris in under 30 minutes and it fired right up. Mist is fine and even, covers the animals well when you drive slow through the herd. Only complaint is I wish it came with a longer power cable but that's a minor thing overall.

worth every dollar for a summer operation

Heat stress and flies together were killing our gains on the feedlot side. fogging daily during the hottest part of the day has made a noticeable difference in how the cattle are eating and moving around. this thing paid for itself faster than i expected.

was hesitant about the price at first

i almost didn't order because the upfront cost felt like a lot for something i hadn't used before. once i compared it to how much time we were spending getting cattle together every time we wanted to treat them it made more sense. now we work it into the feeding pass and keep moving.

tank size hasn't been an issue for us

the 8 quart tank was one thing i questioned before buying because i didn't want to be stopping constantly to refill. after a couple uses you get a pretty good feel for how much solution you need and it's been easy to work into our routine.

fit right into our existing routine

one of my concerns was buying another piece of equipment that would complicate everything we already do. after getting it set up it was the opposite. it works into the normal feeding routine without turning fly treatment into another separate job.

maintenance is pretty straightforward

i've owned enough sprayers to know a clogged line can turn into a headache quick. we've gotten in the habit of flushing everything out when we're finished and haven't had much trouble with it. takes a few extra minutes but i'd rather do that than deal with the chute again.

held up through the whole season

waited until the end of fly season before leaving a review because i wanted to see how it actually held up. it rode around on the UTV through dust, heat and rough pasture all summer and kept doing its job.

you don't need 200 head for this to make sense

we run a smaller herd and i kept wondering if this was overkill for us. after using it i look at it more as a convenience thing than a herd size thing. not having to turn fly treatment into a whole cattle handling job is worth a lot when you're doing everything yourself.

got it working on the rig we already had

i was worried this was going to turn into one of those projects where you spend half a day fabricating brackets just to use it. we found a good spot on our existing setup, hooked everything up and were making passes the same afternoon.

12 volt setup has been trouble free

electrical was honestly one of my concerns because the last thing i wanted was something causing power problems on the UTV all summer. so far we plug it in, make our pass and move on. haven't had any issues during normal use.

takes a couple passes to learn the best coverage

first time out i was probably driving too fast and trying to fog with more wind than i should have. slowed down and started paying attention to which direction the breeze was moving and the coverage got a lot better. little bit of a learning curve but nothing complicated once you figure it out.

support matters just as much as the machine

ranch equipment gets beat up eventually so i care just as much about parts and support as i do the machine itself. knowing there's a clear way to get help if something needs attention down the road makes the purchase a lot easier to justify.
